Gadu 8m Beam is only 7.9m long (or Gadu 4x4 truss is broken)
I been playing around with the Truss lately and have been trying to use the gadu 8m beam with little luck. Today i spent some time moving beams around to see what the truss constraints are and it appears that truss only giving me 7.9m of support. Either that or the combination with a gadu 4x4 truss isn't working when placing two truss with 8m of space between them.

this basically makes the gadu 8m beam and 4x4 truss useless because i cant build anything square.
If you have Truss A at 739.00,545.00,465.00 and you have Truss B at 739.00,533.00,465.00
And then i put up two Gadu 8m beams at 737.20,539.00,468.60 & 740.80,539.0s0,468.60, both beams show invalid positions

However if i move Truss B to 739.00,533.10,465.00 both beams show valid.
Truss B Moved
The only problem with this is now everything doesn't fit properly.

seams beams are also bugged with the cantilever, when trying to use a Gadu 8m Beam with a Gadu Cantilever 4x4 it appears the .2m placement window is about .4m too high. resulting in you having a floating beam above the cantilever.

Okay so i figured out i can use these are cross members in 8x8 truss. for using 2x4 floor sections. However i still think we should be able to place beams with a little bit less restriction when using supports.

Also the height on the Gadu Beam 8m to the Gadu Corner Cantilever 4x4 is looks about .3m too high.

Hello xyberviri,

Yes, the 8m beams were designed for being placed inside 8m trusses only. To span trusses (of any size) you can use 8.8m beams that have the proper support on both ends.

I'll check out the specific height situation you posted above on my local server and respond more after I've done so.

Those situations where from me trying to figure out what the heck i could use the beam for.

The confusion is the beam unlocks at 50, where as the 8x8 truss unlocks at 75.

So from 50-75 points im wondering what the heck this is used for, which resulted in me tring to use this in the way i posted above.

Just a quick update on this one. I've set up a test with all 8m and 8.8m beams on my local server and do see issues. In general the 8m beams should be used inside trusses and 8.8m beams should be used to span trusses. Some are definitely off though and I will go through them all and adjust them.

I will also adjust the skill level for the beams so that they match the corresponding trusses they are used for.

thanks much, ill keep my eyes out for oddness with architecture, im probably going to go up this path on another 2 characters.
