    Temporary Camp Feature

I would like to see an explorer given the chance to setup a camp where anyone who happens upon it while the explorer has it setup can do crafting or cooking, barter supplies, rest with the peace of mind that someone is watching guard.

Time limited camp, maybe various types of camps you can create based on the items you have salvaged. Possible be able to add your part to the camp to make it a better camp with more to offer, like a hunter or gatherer type character could add something to the camp that an explorer wouldn't be able to.

Its something I mentioned during the beta of another post-apoc mmo, don't think they ever gave it one thought.

We can already create building etc..

It could also be situated with the camp suggestion aswell.
I think we already have one, not sure.

    Re:Temporary Camp Feature

I was thinking more personally in a post-apoc world, where I am a lonely explorer far away from town, I need a place to rest, sort out my finding, maybe cook and dry some meat, stitch up a new shoulder guard.

A quite temporary place, a place the wildlife should but might not stay away from.

You would need to carry the needed materials, flint, tarp, and whatnot. Go find some sticks and stones for the fire pit.

Just something to add to the realism, I have been on some long camping trips and have setup many temp camps in the past.

I believe there is no current support for such a feature.

The main problem with this idea is that there will be a limit to how much you can carry weight wise as well as inventory slot. So you will not be able to carry everything you need.

I like this idea. A temporary camp would be useful, though not safe.

Players can already put together a small makeshift camp fire anywhere. I think we can design a few very simple tents that can be carried.

We'll see, but most likely, yes!

In that case can I suggest that tents need not require a fire to be placed in the world & that some tents have features to blend into the landscape?

It may be handy for players to opt to create a shelter that doesn't attract too much attention.

Speaking of which, is there any benefit from creating a fire or raising a shelter?

Camo tent is a good idea, but it might harder to implement. Various terrain details would make camo tents very location and season specific.

I like the idea alot in a PvP world though.

You read my mind! I just took notes about branch, twig and grass shelters that increase camoflauge and have a low view distance.

Fire is required for some crafts. Both fire and shelter increase comfort and healing. Logging out in a shelter refreshes the character.
