I have tried to trade with some people in game, I am sure there is a distance requirement, but I am unable to get a trade window to pop up. Do they need to be in your friends list before you can trade with them?

No, they shouldn't have to be on your friend's list.

Is the other player accepting a trade?

Others have reported a graphic bug with the trade window, so it definitely working. We will test this tonight in house to see if there are any new issues.

I remember the way things were before... having to get super close to a person before the trade would work for me.
