that we can't have more than one character? Is this to force people to continually test out a certain skillset? I'd like to do some weaponcrafting / basketweaving but I dont wanna lose my progress in tailoring/scavenging =P

You'd have to buy a second account if you can afford it. Unless this will be prevented somehow.
