I'm sure a lot of you have done this already, but I figured I'll say it anyways. If you haven't already, talk to your friends (in games and in real life) and introduce them to this game. I think if we start bringing a lot more people into this game, not only will it increase the population and make it more enjoyable (more people around, more tribes to interact with, more people in each tribe, etc), it will speed up the process of testing and hopefully get the game released at least a little sooner. And if you think about it, the more people you get to play, the more people they potentially could get to play and so on. If they seem interested but are reluctant to pay to participate in the beta, remind them they get two free months of game time when it is released. Let's bring some positive attention to this game and bring in some more people B)

To sum it up, if you like the game and its concept, support it so it doesn't ever die. It's only $40 for a risk that can bring a whole new genre to gaming. Nice post...

Have you emailed Jooky about this? I dont have his email on hand but it's something along the lines of bugs@notorius-games.com (I don't think that's exactly it) and I've been told he replies fairly quickly. Shoot him an email and see if there's anything you guys can do :)

This is a good idea... a 50$ visa prepaid card should work no problem. Maybe Jooky can confirm this?

I think people have reported it does.

However, the problem comes with the subscription fee since eventually that money will run out, unless you reload it (can you do that?)

I think you can reload it, but that's beside the point. We're still a while from release and being that they get 2 months free playtime, they have plenty of time to sort out getting a payment method set up.

That being said, will game time cards be available for purchase?

no, we will not have time cards. However, paypal is up and coming.

Some have heard that for awhile now but we are doing the finishing touches on the new site. Still don't want to put an ETA down since Turkey day is coming. but it is around the corner.

One way of promoting this game would be through the various communities such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube?
I'm unsure whether or not these options are already being used at the moment.
Perhaps contact MMORPG.com and invite them to see the game if they aren't here already :P?

I think Xsyon has to advertise more. You can't even add it on Facebook. I use onrpg.com to find my games, Xsyon isn't on there either. It seems like the only place you could find something about Xsyon, is on someone's forums.

I'm actually in a post right now on MMORPG.com talking to people about this game. You can find the post here:

I encourage you guys to either reply to that post and help me out or make new posts on the forum there for this game to get people to play =)

Xsyon doesn't want to start with a large population of players, that is why for now they are depending on only word of mouth.

In the past, they have asked players not to take it upon themselves to advertise for Xsyon.

Why wouldn't he want more players? That seems rather counter-productive...

Maybe they are not ready for a heavy server load?

Maybe they want time for a good community to develop?

Bigger is not always better.

I agree with 1/3. The server stability could be the biggest reason. However, small communities are hardly ever "good" communities. Also, bigger does equal better, more people means more money, and more money means more developers. More developers means more patches and a better overall game.

It probably sounds strange, but we don't want or need more hype. We're building a nice small community right now and that's exactly what we want for the Prelude.
Xsyon wrote this like 8 months ago. I don't know if he still feels the same way or changed his mind, but Ktsume is right,we were asked not to advertise or hype the game.

We plan to send out press releases and build up hype after the Quest system is patched out as we will be close to the final wipe and Prelude launch.

We didn't want to attract too many players earlier as the launcher and server had too many issues that we needed to resolve. As everything is much more stable now, we are ready to take on more new players.

So, feel free to spread the word about Xsyon! More players are welcome now!

Jooky--If you feel it would help, maybe you should go make a post on the MMORPG.com forum section for this game. There seems to be some people talking fairly negatively about the game on there. While that is to be expected with really any game, it seems to have driven many people away. I know that a lot of the community over there kinda sucks but the fact is it has driven many hopefuls away from playing the game.
