and also in 6 months that scrap pile will be just a dusty memory of what was there for the first month...

anyone thats on a scrap pile now, and still has it in 6 months, Id assume didn't login for the last 5 of that.

find a real quote from a dev that has stated scrap piles will not regenerate.

Think about how are we to replace what is going to break beyond repair?

Eventually there would be nothing left in the game at all and we would be running around naked terraforming just to move some dirt around.

they currently degenerate, but there's rumors that they will not regenerate after being depleted.

Discarded objects can be found by later scavengers or picked up and used by creatures. Does this mean when we drop items from our bags?

Yes, but the current system has changed so that discarded items count towards the 'respawning' of scrap piles.
