Okay , so you want to " monitor the lag " for even longer ........ fine , that means people need to stay ingame .

Considering we can do NOTHING except forage and fish , turn off the Stat Decay .. Losing points in str etc when we can't do anything to stop it is taking the piss tbh.

OR

Turn some features on , then you may get more staying in game so you can get the info you need faster ........................

i think that's the point of keeping features off.

yes, eventually, i wont want to log in for fear of losing stats and not being able to avoid it or regain them. this needs to be fixed as soon as reasonably possible.

Agree, seems logical to me.

EDIT: If they don't want us on I am pretty sure they would think of another way of doing it...

To be able to GAIN points in a certain stat, you have to LOSE points in another.

So you decide to start levelling Jumping. Agility is the primary stat for Jumping, so after 2 hours of jumping, AGI is increased by 0.1, and some other stat (example: Strength) is decreased by 0.1.

But because the stat window only displays whole numbers, you see Strength decrease, but no corresponding INCREASE in Agility.

After 10 hours of non-stop jumping, Agility is at x+0.5, and Strength at y-0.5 (stats window shows no change).
After 20 hours of non-stop jumping, Agility suddenly shows an increase of 1 point in the stats window.

That's my current theory anyway ;)

Makes sense to me, hadn't thought of it that way until now.

I thought there wasn't a hard cap? But what your saying seems just right... indicating that there is a hard cap (and it is the points you get for primaries at the start)?

I certainly hope there is a hard cap on stats (the 500 points you get at character creation), otherwise we will have shades of Darkfall II here.

If stat increases mean that points are added in addition to the starting 500, then whoever grinds/macros/plays the hardest and longest will have a huge advantage over everyone else after a few months. What happened in Darkfall shows the danger of that system. It leads to a massive temptation to macro, just to stay "competitive", let alone getting an advantage.

A hard cap forces you to choose, it means that not every player can do everything equally well. The skills are tied to certain stats, so the skills you use most often should generally increase their related stats. Points for those stat increases will be drawn from the stats that you don't use, so you get better at what you LIKE doing, and worse at what you DON'T like doing. No real problem there.

There may well be no cap on SKILL points, but we have yet to see how useful it is to have low primary stats for a skill that is at 90 or 100. For instance, high Fortitude and Agility determines your run speed, but the Running skill reduces the energy used while running. So the Running skill does NOT make you faster, it just allows you to run further. We have a lot to learn about the relations between stats and skills.

Again, this is just my understanding of how things work in Xsyon. I could be totally wrong, but I hope not.

Like that one guy said, go down 5 in agility go up 5 in strength. If you were 80 in agil and 80 in strength and that happened, you would then be 75/75 agil and 85/85 strength.

the devs really haven't told us enough about this, and if they have...where are the threads for all the information?? I seriously have learned almost NOTHING from the forums or devs...none of us really know without there confirmation whether or not we can gain skill points past the hard cap of character creation..
