Edits: up to 42/936!! It may be slow, but as least I can see it moving now.

I left the US Server Patch on over night, hoping it would get done, only to find out the US Patch Server died sometime during the night -- and now I can't even connect to the EU one. So hopefully no one else has this problem.

But yes, I was at about 900MB's.

EU Patch Server finally worked. Starting all over, yay. And getting like 300 KB a second? Gross. This is going to take all week.

142/169 now. Blazing! All I want to do is get in game before an announcement goes up saying the servers are coming down for a data check or whatever. But I really can't complain even if I don't. It's not like I don't have a totem down in a good spot either way.

142/169 now. Blazing! All I want to do is get in game before an announcement goes up saying the servers are coming down for a data check or whatever. But I really can't complain even if I don't. It's not like I don't have a totem down in a good spot either way.

Which, unfortunantly, means I have to download this ridiculous patch at 256kb a second, if that. And then deal with all the other issues that rise up out of this patch.

225mb per hour
= 4.53 hours.
=3:20 pm eastern time to complete barring any catastrophy.

Saolite, if blackzilla is being truthful, as of right now, there haven't been any problems, so maybe things will be smooth as silk once we're past the evil patch beast. Anyway, at least finishing mine up will make things marginally better for everyone still downloading.

I mean more the fallout of what the patch does itself. Thus far, almost every patch has needed a "hot-fix" patch on top of that one, combined with multiple server restarts and slight roll backs. Considering that people could now be floating due to their terrain being increased from under them, or stuck in the ground to the degree that /unstuck won't help, etc. Any and all unforseeable consequences from a patch of this size that could relate to future server instability.

But that's only natural for patches. There's usually small tweaks any company has to do over large patches, just to fix variables or what have you. Except for Xsyon, they seem to amount to huge problems.

I'll stay hopeful that everything is solid, except the US Patch Server, and that after this patch everything will get turned in in a day or two, and the game can start.


Also, congratulations on almost being done. I'm envious. I just want to get off this patch screen already. ;-;

Downloading at 1MB every 15 seconds. So...

1 MB = 15 Seconds
4 MB = 1 Minute
240 MB = 60 Minutes
1,200 MB = 5 Hours


My vision of being able to play any other online game for the next 5-6 hours is bleak. Very, very bleak.

Edit : Also, I can DL games on Steam at about 2 - 3 MB's a second. So seeing 4 MB a minute is just.......it's breaking my heart.

I've never seen a speed indicator, only a X of Y downloaded. Getting the speed requires watching the progress and doing math.

do we have to download a new launcher? I havent been able to connect to the launcher since last night. First time I connected after an hour it timed out with some error. Since then, havent been able to connect. Also where are you guys seeing your DL speed??

The launcher is the same one we downloaded a week or so ago. You don't need the new one unless you didn't already get it this past week.

well I had to connect to EU server to patch the game. Its the same data I assume? I could never make a connection to US server for patch.

As for seeing the speed...

I also couldn't see any progress initially.

After my fourth (?) attempt I started getting an X out of Y measure just underneath the current file.

I'm guessing you don't get the progress until you reach a certain point, or until the gods favor you, or maybe just sometime random.

So onllyyyyyyyy... about 12 hours to go.

Im going at 1 mb/30second, which will take me about 10 hours. My heart didnt break though, i ripped it out of my chest and threw it to the dogs.
