If so, yeah, mine ranges depending on what's going on on my computer from a minute to 5. A minute to load being unbearable makes you sound like a bit of a 'google generation' petulant child though, especially in posting a subject with implied swearing and no capitalisation...

Didnt know that was so important here on the xsyon forums.

I am just comparing the load times I have experienced with this game to the many games I've played in the past. To me its just a little long.

Also I said AT LEAST a minute.

Loading the game should be entirely through your system. (You already downloaded all the files from the patcher) Yeah I run on 2 computers, the crappiest of which (3 fps at best) loads in about a minute on the lowest settings the game can muster. This one takes 2-3 mins but is running on close to the highest settings... the game is a lot more fun on this computer.

Use to be fine up til 2 patches ago for some reason sits at "loading zones" forever and half when before that I use to load in very fast, some members in my tribe said they see it some dont.

My rig and net is out of the question sepcially since I stated it worked fine before, (not even mention how nice my system is) I'm going to say server side on this one.

Takes me, I would say, up to 5 minutes to log in every time. My husband is the same so i assumed this was normal.

We have a 50MB Internet connection (which actually runs at 52MB - much to the upset of the technician that fit it!)

Also trapped on loading entities. I thought something was amiss before I came here. I know it takes half a decade for zones to load, but usually entities means I can actually get going.

Things were working great before, I would undo whatever change was made last patch until it can be examined a bit more.

Ive noticed a lot of times loading zones and entities my download does a bit of activity.
I play in window mode with win7 sidebar network meter gadget, and was watching it during login..the times I load rather quickly I get multiple burst of 5-10 seconds, downloading a massive amount of data for a simple "login" (nothing else running to use that bandwidth..so it has to be xyson)
I mean for up to 10 seconds, I'm downloading at around 15-20Mbs that's a large amount of data for just loading into the world

The times I have 'long' load times, the download speed is just a trickle.
why is the game downloading that much data on EACH login to start with?

If not , The lag is terrible , Zones seem overloaded , Loading entities take forever , Fps has dropped and now we are hoping that someone is monitoring the server.

Could we get some feedback here? Been a bit quiet as of late while everyone struggles to get some decent game time in.

same issue, and like everyone said before when it locked up I'd restart and be fine. I do noticed though that the program stays running and the memory it uses keeps rising while it appears to be stuck at the loading entities screen. It slows down after about a gig of memory is in use, where-as before it would slow down at about 1.25 gigs of memory in use, prior to today. As far as what someone said about a download going while it's loading entities, I am pulling down a constant 4.4kB/s atm, which seems rather slow for updating entities (which I believe is land and item placement changes since yer last login).

So like earlier posts said wait a full 5 - 10 minutes. If you watch processes in task manager when the game hits about 1,250,000K in memory usage you only have a few more minutes to wait. Nothings broke it just updates entities REALLLY slowly. Is there a way to speed this process up for us impatient people =).

Lag seems touch and go. Earlier today when I logged in, my tribe members and myself were getting 3 minute delay on actions even though the game showed 16ms.

Considering there is about 1hr lag delay on all actions on the server, it's likely that Loading Entities takes as long as the current lag. IE if you waited for 1hr at Loading Entities you probably would get in, but it'd take another hour for anything to happen. Lag was fine earlier today.

Next thing on Xsyon's to do list: Eliminate Saturday/Sunday lag. Is it still the actions building and building lag over time, or this time is it simply too many players?

The lag spikes yesterday were only like 5 second delays, no where near as bad as launch.

I finally made it in game, took 10 minutes. It's the connection, not your pc's ability to load the game.

go to your task manager and delete the xsyon.exe process, then you will be able to log in

@Trivium You are probably getting then when restarting the game and the Xyson.exe process is still running. Make sure it's not before starting it again.



Needless to say that I finally got past loading entities after 10 minutes. When I got in though, I could not do anything, all my bars were zero, could not chat, and I couldn't see anyone else. I was connected, but not. Oh well, trying again.

Seems to be the norm today. 10 - 45 minute long loads on Entities, and another 2-5 minutes of loading once in the game for your stat bars to appear.

Computer hardware doesn't seem to effect it ( from what I've been talking about with others ) concerning the loading of Entities -- seems to be a server side issue.


I've got a godlike gaming rig, too, and same thing for me. Took me about 15-20 minutes to load Entities, then another 2ish to load my bars and get a ping to the server.

Really, not the best gaming computer in the world, but it'll run Crysis, Metro 2033, Fallout 3, ect ect on high settings (highest for fallout 3, high on Metro 2033 and Crysis), and runs really smoothly when the AA is turned down a bit.

It used to not be so bad. I believe that it might have to do with errors during install, but I could be wrong. Maybe something to do with the computers ability to access the folders? *Shurg*

Stuck on Loading Entities at 10-15 minutes and killed the task - Its not my computer or the connection as others have stated it is a coding issue. It would almost appear as if I was loading the entire world and all its entities (players-baskets-houses) at start instead of what every other game to date has done - which is load on the go as needed.

2 Weeks ago my load time was 2-3 minutes with 10-20 seconds entities loading time

Now its 15+ unknown load time - I can load any other game made to date and play a game in that time.

yesterday afternoon (central us daylight time) when i logged in, it was a 20 min wait at loading entities.

once i got in game, there was a 5 min window where i had 90 second lag on chat and actions (despite showing a 47 sec ping)

at the end of that window, the game ran normally, with minimal/limited lag periods.

This mornign when i logged in briefly, it was a 5 min log in wait, but without the sync requirement after gettting in game.

As I posted in a similar post about this, it's not the computer, or the bandwidth. I have a core i7 cpu, gtx 560 video card, 3 gigs of corsair low latency memory running Windows XP, and Velociraptor harddrives, still takes me 5 - 10 minutes to load Entities. What I DO notice is my download rate while loading entities is about 5k/s (even though my 10mbit connection is capable of 900 - 1000k/s), and if you check Task Manager, the game starts at around 1,000,000 K memory usage, and slowly works it's way to 1,250,000 K memory usage while Entities are loading, proving it's not a crash, computer issue, or bandwidth issue (at least not on the end user side ;).

That's really all I can explain the devs have to do the rest and figure out why it's happening, I'm not a coder just a computer tech =).

On a side note, and other thought. I have the exact some computer at another location on another ISP pushing 32mbit on the burst and averaging around 25mbit. Even though the bandwidth change doesn't seem to matter, I loaded this morning into that world on that computer in about a minute or so. The entities problem started for me about 2 days ago overall =).

And then it kicks me to the splash login screen (vs. the launcher). Then I log in again, same deal, 1-3 more go rounds. So it can take me up to 40+ minutes (because I'll log in and go change laundry, read email, and generally do something to keep me from staring at a "loading [whatever]" message for 5-10 minutes), before I can log in.

So, we're talking about not hugely high settings on a vista SP2 dual core machine with 4gb of memory on a laptop with a nvidia dedicated chip. Since I generally don't care about fab graphics, this means that it's probably *not* taking so long because I'm loading rich assetts, and the crash to login (often repeatedly) means I don't even bother to try to log in a lot of times.

With my desktop pc ( win 7, 4 gb ram, nvidia 480 gtx) its only loading like 3- 5 min.

Xsyon + laptops = bad combination.
