Scrap pile generation is in the "In Progress" section. So to answer your question, it means nothing in today's update.

Eventually, it means that if you discard enough junk in the same spot, it will become a junk spot.

Not sure about this patch but it looks like nothing has changed, i still have lag when i cross zones and even got a client error on zone 856 ... about the animals ... well ... i still can't see them :)

I saw a bear close to our camp in zone 777, he was on his way down to the lake.

I killed a bear and a coyote close to my camp in 740 after the patch. Have searched the wider area and see no more creatures, so in my opinion this is FAIL. Give us something to hunt.

Also, i have had several crashes and also get zone crossing lag still. Im really getting pissed at these supposed updates. As usual, the game becomes worse for an amount of time after the patch. The things people care about are not being dealt with. How bloody hard is it to increase the amount of creatures in this game?

The little things are what people need now, like scrolling on crafting lists, much wider variety of scavenged recipes, crafting multiple amounts of a particular item with one click, waterbags, drinking multiple sips of water in one click, acquiring new recipes by crafting at a much more reasonable rate, etc. These smaller things make what we already have a much more enjoyable experience.

I am sick of the pain in my hands that is part and parcel of playing the game as is. I have mild carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands which is related to being a professional musician for most of my life. I have played a crapload of online and single player games, but never have i had the pain in my hands that i get from playing Xsyon.

People are dropping off left, right and centre. Not because they dont like the game, but because they are needing these smaller fixes to make what we already have an enjoyable experience. Nobody expects th new stuff to appear ingame overnight, but how about fix what is here already before moving on and leaving a pile of broken mechanics in your wake as a result.

I have seen plenty of critters they where all in there spots where they should be.There was even a small bear at my tribes totem which has never been there before maybe you just dont know where the animals are.If your close to Secret cove theres lots of deer up in the hills a little ways.

I allways get zone lag in the same spot when i cross it and have yet had it to happen after 4 trips through but havent really went out that far yet.

I have searched 3 zones i went up on mountains, down on hills, checked the forests and rivers and the only animal i seen was a raccoon. I'm not saying you lie, maybe your forest is full of animals but i simply refuse to walk around 10-15 zones in order to actually kill something. This in my opinion is broken.

I got attacked by a bear in our camp and by a second one at the junk pile.

I'm in zone 854, checked 855 and 895 to = 1 raccoon, now i am currently in 894 and have found a lot ... a lot of stumps. From what i read on the forums there are a lot of people finding animals, now there are 2 options :
1. they are lying about finding lots of animals
2. the system is really broken since a few zones have lots of animals and others none

There is no difference between spawning now and a regular server reset.

Scoured 6 zones at various elevations and found only 2 bears.

@ Devs:

Thx for the new patch and the improvements it brought. Tribe members of mine seem to have quite a lot animal encounters and the zone lag seems indeed to be gone. *thumbs up*

Looking forward for the upcoming additions to the game as mentioned by you guys.

Faster tree growth and surface generation system. This will include scrap pile generation.

Good we need more trees. Scrap pile generation, glad to know I was right.

Todays patch seems to work for me also. I get no zone lag, and I've encountered quite a few animals. Plenty for my taste :P... Looking forward to future updates, and I'm glad to hear about the trees and scrap.

The problem is, players think the changes affect the spawns. It doesn't, all it affects is the AI. So no more animals running through walls, up steep cliffs, When to hide/fight or flee. Spawning has not changes a bit. I got this info straight from the staff.

This...

No one said that monster spawn rate would increase. When they finish getting the other animals in they won't have to increase monster spawn rate (hopefully).

I believe it means the junk piles will regenerate. I dont really agree with that, they should deplete and stay depleted, making it necessary in the future to be able to gather raw resources, clay, ore, whatever, and create things from scratch, not from scrap.

I like your idea, scrap piles are here to make more sophisticated items, but when depleted then we should use raw matterials to make nails, iron plates, etc... ;)

Bowls and water containers could be from clay, plant pots depending on the agriculture system when it comes. Generally we can see this system now in game for making bricks, or wood handles and stuff like that, even baskets and anything made from basketry. Though things made in tailoring would no longer be made from scavenged items, but rather from cotton that we would have to grow ourselves, and harvest, just as an example. We could still make sophisticated items, but there would be multiple skills involved, rather than just picking up a piece of shit off the ground and smacking it with a hammer a bunch of times.

I dont think scrap piles should ever deplete, rather the loot table will change somewhat instead. Personally I love to be able to pick up a car battery and a lava lamp and stick it in my tent, id stare at that shit for hours man! Also being
able to find some special shrooms in the forests (and forests re-added to the game too). But i guess i could go do that IRL with less hassle and better graphics!
