View Full Version : What is your top 5 priority list?

KeithStone

Tell us your top 5 priorioty list that you would like the devs to work on next, don't say bug fixes - I want to know your top 5 feature list.

1. Item Decay
2. Combat Revamp
3. A way to carry mass resources, example would be a pack animal
4. Auction System (I know this is coming, I'm assuming it will be local to each tribe which will make it very awesome) I'm also hoping that non-tribe members will be able to use this feature.
5. Finish the quest system

4. Seige, gate mechanics
5. More crafting variety, waterskins anyone, I can make a coyote head into a helmet but I can't make a waterskin to carry water.
6. Revamping eating and drinking.

I know 6

revision 4. to include more freeform building, or just better fitting pieces right now if you can't build stuff on top of stuff without some sort of distance inbetween and if you try to do anything creative it's a big "get stuck here" trap.

7. Animals/zombie AI more variety.
8. Religion/alignment these aren't in any order but I'd like to see any of them atm.

Dezgard get back to work, stop spamming forums.:)

1. Item quality
2. Item Decay
3. Farming (forestation included)
4. Re-working animals. From AI to toughness (sorry dudes I can kill a bear in 3 strokes, that is simply silly)
5. Combat overhaul (complete one, no stone should be left unturned on this one)

Kinslayer
04-19-2011, 04:09 AM
1. Item decay/quality (I believe these are closely related)
2. Water Skins/containers
3. Logistical Devices such as carts, handcarts, wheelbarrows
4. Rare/Regional/capturable resources
5. Combat, both mechanics as well as PvE content.
5a. Knockout rather than death when PvPing with the option to kill / combined with the alignment system.

5 is tough, but these would have to be the most important to me. Other candy stuff like agriculture, religion, freeform building, and of course more content like more buildings, are just icing on the cake.

Trees respawning should really be up there too, though not in my top 5.

NorCalGooey

1) Item STATS so we know what does what (example, bone armor has more encumbrance but more resistance as well). The MnB gear stat system works really well with the combat system. More armor = slower attack speed, walk speed, and less damage = completely realistic. things like that need to be addressed on items. Otherwise, as of now everything is aesthetic only.

2) Option for tribal warfare. An option for tribal skirmishes would be good too. What I mean is that combat will be turned on in tribal zones but not looting. So tribes could practice holding down their lands and such. Plus, this would be just a GREAT way to mix things up. A no risk, no reward PvP scenario where both sides must agree before it is turned on and it would be limited in time as well. Such as 20 minutes of attacking but no loot at a time

3) You need to go MUCH MORE in depth with your architecture system. Where this game would REALLY shine is if you could implement housing design where each player could do the floor plan of his own house. As of now, members in tribes don't have much option to build or design personal areas. We just get to pick a hut and store bins in it. Most people would absolutely love the freedom of design for their own house or hut.

4) PvP system revamp. Do it just like Mount and Blade :) Seriously if Mount and Blade was a sandbox MMO I wouldn't be playing this game or any other game ever. Without the freedom to manual swing (although we kind of do but we cant hold the blade down it just swings right away) and manual block the PvP system will be nothing special, and it needs to be very special in an FFA loot sandbox game.

5) Add riding. Horses are a lot more realistic than taming a black bear and mounting it regardless of whether or not there were horses in Tahoe or not. They could have easily migrated there for the sake of a story that makes sense.

Very strong armor, weapons, etc, would take 100 hours of material gathering to make (you get my drift) so people actually have a REASON to PvP. There is ZERO point to full loot when all I can get is that bone armor that didn't take very long to make. PvP has to create loss of precious items or it will just be another battle ground.

KeithStone
04-19-2011, 04:38 AM
1) Otherwise, as of now everything is aesthetic only.

Armor and weapons already have stats - Cloth = 100 points of protection Grass Armor = 150 points Leather = 200 points and Bone = 300 points

Weapons have them too, there's a post on here somewhere that shows what they are.

NorCalGooey
04-19-2011, 04:42 AM
If that is true, thats a much larger problem. People shouldn't have to rely on the forums or asking the devs to find out what there armor does.

Seriously, that's how people know? They asked the devs and they told them? This needs to be crystal clear on the gear.

that should actually be one of the top priorities, period.

1. Combat revamp (Ranged combat+PvE elements included)
2. Combat r.... I mean, crafting revamp (time-based crafting, 'practise' options, mini-games, item quality, the recipe gain system we were promised to start with etc. anything to make the newly revamped combat system not the ONLY thing to do in the game... ;) )
3. Simple stuffs, water containers, not having to click the water button every 10 seconds (even a queue/toggle would be enough to keep me quiet), patchwork cloth options, etc.
4. Animal taming - Pack animals number 1 priority (fuck it, even wheel barrows would be a step up -_- ), mounts number 2, etc...
5. Healing+Cooking implementation (maybe even revamp for eating+drinking systems)

Oh, 6. Comfort... 7. Hiding revamp... 8..., Jokes. There's obviously a shit-tonne more, but I feel those 5/6/7 would have the game in a condition where I would be happy to do something other than grind my hiding and watch TV. More importantly, they'd have the game somewhere I feel I could introduce my friends to it, and even more importantly, I might actually be willing to pay a monthly fee for it...

1)Combat that works, and that doesnt look like 2 people slapping each other in a girlfight.
2)Item decay. Major item decay. Not it will decay after 100000 uses, or after 2 weeks, but you get into a fight, and you lose 10% effectiveness until its repaired. Or using an axe on a tree will make it slower or use more energy per action, etc.
3)Regional resources that are limited.
4)REAL STATS for items. Not something thats 1% better, but things that have major effects. WITH TOOL TIPS!!
5)Tracking.

3)Decay...all of the crap we can make should be pretty flimsy. We shouldn't get superior condition items until we can smelt our own metal etc.
4)Fix Combat
5)Create "hot zone" areas that bring people together like the coon thing, but hopefully don't have the server break again.

But I personally don't really care...not playing that much.

5. Resource regeneration - trees/junk piles, etc.
6. Stability - make sure none of the above breaks the game

You are a moron. The OP asked what each person had as their top 5, not what is the overall top priorities.

Yes for me Animal Taming is MY no 1. I spec'd for that at toon creation and already have 50 pts into it from lvl'ing. Like I said I want all the other stuff people are asking for like item decay, a combat revamp, territory warfare, a real reason to pvp ect but I personally am waiting most eagerly for animal taming and the rest of the animals/AI system.

Cooking/herbalism I really don't care so much for, but the rest of the post I quoted is in my top 5 for sure...
Forestry to plant and harvest trees on tribelands
Ranged combat(since I'm spec'd as a tamer and not for in your face close combat)

1 - I'd like to see a few small (renewing and unclaimable) junk piles in the start zones, and a few huge (unclaimable) junk piles out in the wilderness. Really, junk piles are a poor substitute for crafting. We should be mining and smelting metal, not pulling it out of the trash. It's really disappointing that MineCraft actually does a lot of the terraforming and resource gathering better than Xsyon.

2 - After my experience with terraforming in this game - I am guessing that underground mining/tunneling will NEVER be added. I don't think the engine can handle it.

3,4,5 - I agree. Maybe not zombies, though. I like zombies, but I prefer Xsyon be reality-based as much as practical.

You would be correct, Xsyon works based off a height map over a terrain plane. There is nothing in the current engine that allows for the handling of multiple heights in the same coordinate, this is why caves etc are just glorified 'rock house' sitting ontop of the terrain rather than actual real caves.
