Account question

So i got an email asking to join and everything, and came on and logged in. It says free to play but then there is also the option for a premium account. When I clicked on the link to the "forum" that was suppose to explain it the link was broken. Can anyone explain to me what the account difference is and if this "play free" is simply a trial?

Free play is unlimited, but your skills are capped at 30 and you can't start your own tribe or do any building.
