Unless I missed it, I find myself needing to move the totem to add a structure, floor, or even terraform. Is there a way for us to pick up the totem and place it back once we are satisfied with how we want the building? Currently, I need to disband the tribe and wait 4.5 hours to create the tribe and be able to place the totem down.

Currently no, I think the best you can do is ask for a guide to move it for you so you can build, then ask them to place it back in the spot.

Do Not Disband the tribe, all of the buildings are tied to the totem they were built around, remove the totem and the building no longer belong to you or any other totem placed on that spot, and you will have to dismantle all of them to be able to continue building on top of them.

The days of moving totems around to terraform, and snapping buildings down over them are long gone, now you need a guides help to move them out of the way.
