Developer Updates

Hello Xsyon Citizens!

Just a quick update for today. This week the server host company needs to run some maintenance and upgrades on the servers. The servers will be down briefly during these upgrades and I will announce down time in game with a 30 minute warning.

I am wrapping up a few more features for the upcoming pet system and plan to resume public tests next Monday.

Many thanks to all of you that have helped test the upcoming creature updates so far. I've been patching regular changes to the Test Server to address reported problems and to further progress on the pet and mount system until it's ready for public release.

There are still a few features that need to be finished before pets and mounts go to the main servers. Here's what I'm working on right now:

I will be uploading files for upcoming patches this week (so if you notice patches that's what's going on!)

The Test Server will also be open to the public but I am not quite ready for feedback as I will be turning upcoming changes on and off while running specific tests with assistance from the Guide Team.

Once I'm ready for public feedback I will set up feedback requests in the Developer Zone forum section.

I apologize for the silence this month. I'm out of the country due to family reasons and am returning home tomorrow (after 30 hours of travel). I've continued daily work and progress on the upcoming new creature AI and features and things are looking good.

I am currently running timed tests on a closed Test Server. The new AI system can handle 15,000 creatures at 20 updates per second. In contrast, the current live AI runs creatures in combat at 10 ...

I updated the servers last night with database changes and more preparations for upcoming features. This should be the final patch with optimizations, preparations and crash fixes before we start testing upcoming features by the end of this month. I may have one more quick patch before then. We'll see!
