One way to make it non-intrusive into game would be a poll at log in...if you play...you will see it...if you care...you will answer it. Have the login system auto-mail the answer into the server. Then each "Vote" is linked to an account.
Important update and patch messages could also be displayed with/without a poll as well.
The thing is, the game involves grinding. Would be nice filling out some polls and surveys while you're grinding for materials.
How can you grind for materials and at the same time fill out the polls???

Click to get the material, then answer a question or fill in a poll while you wait for the timer.

ingame polls seem like a waste of time and resources. just play the game in window mode and do other stuff if you get bored grinding, and theres always the alt tab solution

I like what Virtus said about this...

polls on forums are not a very good. Only a very small percentage of players actually use forums. For example there are 1k+ pre-orders yet only about 20-30 people that use the forums.
Polls and surveys are designed to give feedback so the developers could further improve the game to where it's needed. Most players will not want to do that out of the game. Their input is needed and this is the best way to get it, the forums isn't.

I like the idea with the login, or even at patching/analyzing and then a straight jump to character selection instead of having to log in again.
But keep it out of the game. It was annoying enough in Aion having a survey pop up almost every time you logged in.
- And yeah, do as stated. Do other stuff, make some coffee, grab a smoke, clean your desk/desktop screen (same goes for resting btw ;) at least for now).
Polls/surveys on login bueno idea :).
Oh yeah, I defo think we should have bug reporting in-game. Really it is imperative for some people to have easy access to such things, personally I write the bug down and send a dozen of them at the same time through the websites, but it would make a lot more send in bugs and if that is what it requires for those people to send in bug reports then that is an alright intrusion in the game and something you can have fun with while grinding, if you like ;).
