Loot on mobs

I think the animals/mobs in the game could use some type of added loot instead of just giving us bones/hides/meat/etc.

Now I don't think weapons or armor should be it as this takes away from the crafting system and discourages player trade and crafting in general.

I don't know exactly what would make hunting and the game in general more fun but here is an example. Maybe other players could offer their suggestions on new loot types as well.

One thing that came to mind would be an item that gives you a certain timed gain to skills upon use. Of course, they would be rare to get or only drop off the extreme mobs, but upon using one, you would get say 5 minutes of enhanced skill gains.

Another thing could be a stat gain item, where you would instantly gain .1 strength upon use.

These were just two examples that came to the top of my head but you get the idea. Cool new loot from revenants and mobs would definitely add some fun to hunting.

As I said, players feel free to suggest more loot items that won't ruin the games crafting or trade system.

what about a spin on this idea, Like if i kill a mutant raccoon, maybe it has an "unusual rib/skull/jaw bone", "tough hide" or something like that pops when im harvesting resources and has a bonus stat on top of what ever you normally get.

But still is basically an item that requires a crafter to make it into something useful.

erm, is that not what the point of mutant animals being added to the game were for in the first place. These give better stats than "normal animals" drops. So you should be seeking out those to craft better gear etc, rather than grinding on rats all day in the hope something good pops up?
Well at least thats what i thought the intention was:)

Skill buffs would be better served using the cooking/farming system already ingame by mixing up a certain ingredients, i know these buff health etc atm, but i dunno maybe an intelligence buff could be applied to a specific skill for a certain duration.

Mutant mobs already drop 'special loot'. Their hides/food/bones have full power/higher stats. So you already receive a reward for killing them.

Using the items that we skin and take off the mobs and turning them into something wonderful is our job as players, whether that's gear, weapons, tools or food. Personally I would rather they not drop items other than the craftable items that we in turn use ...for our crafting. I don't want it to turn into a game where grinding our skills up becomes obsolete and unneeded because you can get something better off a mob; grab that epic weapon or kill mobs and turn your low level gear into great gear by adding that special gem, socket, idol, etc. That is one of the things I love about Xsyon, our crafting skills are needed and necessary. And the better your skills are, the better the items are. Trading up is a good thing.

Just tired of games that make crafters useless. If mobs start dropping 'loot', that's what it will eventually become. Sorry, I'm not for this feature.

The spin that xyberviri mentions is something already on my list.

Basically I would add rare 'drop' resources that are still animal parts used in crafting (gold tooth, resilient hide, whatever, etc.)
