An emote speak

An emote speak
An emote speak like /e

A /e command would give us a chance to speak openly without speaking to the whole zone. Would allow for small groups in an enemy zone to talk together even if they are not in the same tribe. Would also allow RPers to RP without letting the whole zone see their RP. Plus it is hard for RPers to RP, when they hear the conversations of all the characters in a zone.

So I am going to add to this. I can bring a lot of people to this game on my own ( I have already brought 8, half of them playing daily. ) if they were to add a emote speak. I've ran three RP/PVP clans, and have connections to all my co-leaders from the last game. I am also willing to host a Xsyon rp community site, or do what it takes to bring an RP community here, but there has to be an emote speak for RPers, one with a 10-30 yard range. I will also get other RPers who play this game, but do not RP on this game because of lack of community, and lack of emote/short range speaking to sign this thread. This game has a lot of potiental for RPers, and though many would like to think there isn't a large group of RPers in the mmo world, there is. Any game that attracts them is a good thing. RPers a lot of times, are easy to keep in a game, for they make their own stories, and add their own content.

Thanks for reading.

I've done a great deal of RPing in my day and the fact you cant /e is not really an issue. Then on top of saying there is a "lack of community" is pretty crazy. This game has a strong community of the ones that play. The problem isnt the lacking of an /e command it's the lacking of a fun things and working content in the game.

You have a /t chat that is not local, and I've also found that most people that like to RP mostly care about the limited range as being not global. Which local is, if you want to whisper someone you have that option also. You an RP that 10-30yard range is simply a local chat or even a whisper. I would highly doubt that /e would be used much even within the RP group as it just doesnt happen in this game. Rarely are you at that range and chatting outside of a tribe.

An RP event brings people together for the event within close range. For someone that claims to have "done a great deal of RPing", you must know this by now. I agree with a 30 meter /e.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with you mr.dtt. It is hard to RP with it all being in general. Every RPer I have suggested this to has said they don't have an /e? How do they miss such a vital thing. A close range speak, is needed. Specially with no party, no way to communicate with someone infront of your face. It breaks the immersion of the game. One... my character can be heard/seen to be talking anywhere in my zone. So from a IC point of view, specially if you look at non RPers from an IC point of view, one they hear you from EVERYWHERE. So... You must be talking on a radio when you use /s for the general chat. Where does my character talk directly to a group of three in the woods before attacking someone.

Also, there is a great community for RP? I would like to know where the RPing is done. Actual stories made by players? Players role playing their characters? I would love to join.

And most RP is done within a area of 30 meters of people together. Bar events, hunting parties. We do not want every character in the area to hear our RP. And whispering 3 people for a 3 way conversation is quite... aggravating to do when you are trying to RP privately with other RPers in the zone. For example, if I were to play my character, and two allies of my tribe. We don't like the wrappahoe tribe and we want to kill them. How do we speak in public, for those in character range to hear without alerting our enemies on the other side of the river?

An I am talking about bringing a large RP group, most RP groups use /e more than any other chatting mechanic in a MMO. It gives emotions to the character to show a better idea of what is going on with that character.

I find that most games have this same chat system in them.

They have:
Local/Say (Close Area) Very limited Range
Yell (much larger area or even the whole world) Moderate or Unlimited Range
Whispers (Single other person) Unlimited Range
Guild/Clan/Tribe (Members of your XYZ) Unlimited Range
Group/Party Chat (People you invite with a limited amount of people in the group/party) Unlimited Range

This game is only missing 1 of those, group/party. Which would not fit the context of what I've found most RP'ers want.

Most games do not have a 10m to 30m range chat. Even highly regarded as RP games. Like Never-winter.

Myself as I've said have done a lot of RP in my day, and the limits of this chat would not stop me from RPing here. They offer more than enough options to still RP. I would find a grouping system of chat would be much more used, and helpful than a new command that would likely never or rarely used.

I've also found that /e is not used like you are saying, its used for actions. Like /e laugh. Which would cause this text "MrDDT laughs." Which we already have over 20 different emotions for that stuff, which causes your toon to do the action.

About the "need" or want to RP privately they have that option. Yes you cant do it with 3 people unless you all 3 are in your own tribe, but again mostly I've found that could be simply solved with a much more common option of making groups with a group chat. Then many people would use it, and not just for RPing.

/e would be nice for all of the above reasons, but how about we try something simple first.. like /f for family. A channel that broadcasts to members of your family list.

just add/remove people to your family list as you RP/hunt etc... kinda like a group chat using some of the existing game functions.

...and for the record ERP you don't want to broadcast in a 1000m radius probably isn't worth doing in the first place.

/s 's nipples harden at the potential of Xsyon
