Got: Sun Jan 03 04:35:46 2016 Error: Error Creating Mesh Vertex Buffer: CreateRectVBOffset: Invalid Call

Full screen with map window open via launcher. Did about 20 alt-tabs before crash which is better than 50/50 chance with live build.

Checked client logs for both live and test. Seeing these same errors on loading:

Those messages can be ignored. They are left over warning messages only and don't cause any problems. (I'll remove them when I do some code cleanup).

Ok. Here's where we're at with this one:

I updated both the Main Servers and Test Server with a minor change. Please try Alt-Tab again and if you crash, let me know what the full message is (again).

Still crashing today. Same message--Error Creating Mesh Vertex Buffer: CreateRectVBOffset: Invalid Call

Still getting the error unfortunately, only this time the error message has the added verbiage "Invalid Call" at the end of it. This is via the launcher with Map Panel open.

Just letting you all know that I've been focused on getting this one finally out of the way this week and it's definitely not a quick and easy fix!

So far, I do think I have Alt-Tab fixed for most situations, but it will still crash if it's raining or snowing in game. I'm working on that situation right now. I'll update the Test Server with whatever stage it's at tomorrow.

Alrighty. The Test Server is updated (through the launcher and Steam). The current build should Alt-Tab fine UNLESS it's raining or snowing. If it still crashes when it's not raining or snowing, please let me know.

Also, one player noted that for him Alt-Tab works fine when in full screen in maximum (screen) resolution, but crashes at lower resolutions. This can also be tried to see if it hold true for everyone.

To access the Test Server through Steam:


Go to the Xsyon - Prelude page in your Library.
Right click Xsyon - Prelude from the list and select Properties from the pop up menu.
Select the BETAS tab
From the first drop down, select 'test - Test Server'
Enter 'xsyontestserver' as your beta access code.

A new build is up! The Test build is ready on the Test Server through the launcher and Steam.

With this build I can alt-tab indefinitely even if it's raining or snowing in game. I had to fix several DirectX issues and memory leaks but this build should hopefully do it!

Please check and let me know if this finally works for all of you!

Seems to be working well, played today with no issues tabbing in or out, even in the rain!
