Today i was scavenging when at some point my cart window inventory remains open even if I went far away from it...i was able to fill easy 4 bins scavenging at this way...then at some point the bug left as he came, and i was no more able to open bins in my cart far way from it, even if my cart window was still opened, then i close it and everything is back to normal...but for some minutes was really awesome XD.

Ok. I'll need more information on this one.

If you get this to happen again, please give me your exact location and the location of the cart at the time (so you can move back to the cart and give me that location as well). My first guess is that this has to do with you being in one zone and the cart in another, although I haven't been able to reproduce this at a zone boundary.

Thanks!

Not sure if sMartins or Darkwalker9 got back to you on this.

I stumbled across it earlier and set about trying to get more info. The zone boundary absolutely seems to come into effect, but there's another requirement that I haven't worked out yet, too. I currently have a cart up in-game if you want to have a look, zone 860, x1017, z473. The cart does not have a max distance for right clicking (except the maximum distance for objects to be highlighted on mouseover). I've done this from further inside 860, and from over the border in 861. I believe I was inside 860, along with the cart, when I dropped the cart (by entering combat mode).

I can go a very good distance from the cart with the cart window open.

I'll leave the cart where it is for a bit, in case you want to come have a look at it. In the mean time I'll try to get another cart in the same situation.

In addition to the previous post (editing is apparently disabled in the bug forum):
It's worth noting that it depends only on the location of the cart, the player can close and reopen the cart (while moving about, between zones) as many times as they wish and the "problem" persists. It seems that the cart has just "lost" it's maximum range.

I've copied the current data and will load it to the test server to check out this specific situation.

Thanks!

I made a few attempts on getting another cart stuck in the same situation, which all failed, including putting another cart in (probably nearly exactly) the same position.

Here's the situation leading up to the bugged cart (as accurate as I remember it, keeping in mind I wasn't 100% paying attention to the details before it happened).

Chopped a tree, loaded the long logs into my cart, started dragging the cart, moved to an area (the area that the cart is bugged at) next to some small logs, toggled and untoggled combat to get rid of the cart, picked up a small log, threw it in the cart. That's when I noticed the cart was bugged.

Hopefully you can get some ideas from that which I've missed!

Iv'e had something like this happen once to me, My totem is in 937 where the Cenderrat spawn point is/was, i equipped my cart and then traveled over to 936.

I unequipped my cart, cut down a tree and then chopped it into logs, cut them into blocks and put them in the cart.

i was able to open the bins and access the inventory inside the cart, but the Use option was gone, i logged off then back on and my cart was gone.

i searched and was unable to find my cart, eventually i returned to my camp and my cart was there with the wood i put in it.

There was no indication that it wasn't attached to my character, in fact i was encumbered by the weight of the cart while moving, travel across water was blocked by the dept of the stream.

not to mention the cart was visible on my client the entire time, including clipping the player.

I was using the steam client, i did not think to load up a second account and login with the xsyon client but if it happens again ill go do that.

all actions fired off with no signs of latency either.

Hello Pauven,

If you log off and back on, is the cart still 'bugged' for you?

I checked out the specific cart on the test server (after copying over the data) and I can't reproduce any problems with it.

Thanks!

It appears that relogging breaks the "bug". I went back to my cart on live (after having been offline for a couple of hours), and I can't get it working. I have no clue how the code is done, but is it possible for the bug to be client side?

It would be interesting to see if someone else gets the "bug" while I'm getting it too, but if relogging resets it, it seems doubtful. I'll keep an eye out for it, hopefully I can get it to happen again. I'll keep you updated if I do!

xyberviri, your issue doesn't seem to be the same as this one. The cart stays where it should be, and I don't get the encumbrance. Also, the use option is there the entire time (and I assume usable as long as I can right click my cart).

Just to make sure, when the cart was bugged:

- The right click 'use' panel could be brought up at any distance (as long as the cart could be selected)
- You could open the cart and the cart container panel would stay open at any distance (even out of selection range?)
- Could you open containers in the cart also at any distance and they would stay open?

I'm trying to figure out if the panels are bugged or the information on the cart itself is incorrect.

Thanks!

Replies in order:

- Correct, the use panel could be brought up as long as the cart could be selected, regardless of distance.
- I could open the cart container panel and move to any distance without the panel automatically closing as it would usually do, even out of selection range (I didn't test for a max distance, but easily far out of sight of the cart).
- The cart didn't contain any containers and I didn't think to add any. However, I did test it with logs, which I could add to and remove from the cart, even without being able to see the cart due to distance.

In addition:

- I could close the cart container panel and reopen it as many times as I wanted without "breaking" the bug.

- I could enter and exit combat mode without "breaking" the bug (I was checking if it was graphical, making sure the game didn't think the cart was still attached to me)
- I could drag other carts while interacting with my bugged cart's container panel.

To me, it just appeared as though the cart was constantly close enough to open the right click 'use' panel (and therefore have the container panel open).

Additional info after getting the bug (not on purpose unfortunately, so I didn't pay attention to exact circumstances leading to it). This was shortly after it had crossed over a zone border (it was at x983, so further from the border than last time).

It's possible to access containers inside the cart from far distances.

Someone in the same tribe as me reported that there is a maximum distance that it would stay open, it's just extremely far. I ran a few zones over before getting killed (the window stayed open for the whole time). Getting killed and respawning breaks the bug. I wasn't able to confirm that the max distance exists, but if it does it's at least a couple of zones away from the cart.

I can recreate this bug on demand, it takes me a few "goes" but its easy to reproduce.

Attach a cart
Go to your nearest zone border
When you are close to the zone border Sprint across it, full speed.
At the same time watch the Minimap, as soon as the Zone number changes Stop.

The idea is to sprint across the zone border and stop as quickly as possible after crossing

Open the cart, Open a bin in the cart.

then I walk away with bin and cart open if the bin doesnt stay open, do the whole process again
ie crossing the zone border at sprint, stopping and opening the cart.

Factors Im not sure affect:

For some reason after opening the cart, I walk away side ways using the left or right key - A or D in the direction I was travelling.
I also dont know if the actual speed is a factor ie 100 run skill and high agil.

[EDIT] forgot to add...

I use C for combat releases on the cart and detatch the cart immediately after crossin the zone border
