I am also having this problem. My res is 1440/900 and when I set game to match, it won't.

I can not play in full screen because it also crashes.

After spending some time ingame this evening(with an actual playing screen size of about 9x5 inches), I can not play Xsyon with the screen the way it is.

I was told ingame that this is not a bug but is wai.....if so, then you will lose alot more players.

Until this patch, the areas marked in red were not seen on my comp. After patch, I can no longer resize the game screen to match my own.

It may be the same on your screen, but that is NOT how I have been playing for months.

The game setting resolution is not matching what is stored in the saved folder. I set mine for 1680 x 1050 and if I quit before it crashes then check the saved folder I find this. Interface_1571x982.sav I'm not sure what this means or what is needed to correct it, but clearly it is in disagreement with the "options" resolution settings.

If your monitor is #17 - 19# then you too would see the problem. A game-window that won't fit the screen ... please.

I too can't understand that .sav file with a resouluton number. But something is definitely wrong. Let's hope for a quick fix.


I don't understand. This must have been tested on Test server in some way. If you don't test different pc set-ups, you play instead of testing and not doing anyone a favour .. at least the devs.

Also, a scaleable chat-box with the option to change background-opacity wouldn't hurt. Pergaps with option for font-size and borders or not.

Tried a clean (folder and everything Xsyon related in registry deleted) reinstall of Xsyon. No change in windowed mode (game runs fine but unplayable due to size of window and chat box) and crash in full mode when moving character with either keys or mouse.

Other things tried in order to run in full mode:
Variuos graphic card drivers including newest released.
Different resolutions for monitor and game, same and mixed.

So, being unable to size my game to my screen is wai. Being unable to play in full screen is wai.

I would like a personal word from Dezgard and Jooky about this issue because this is a serious game breaking problem for many of us.

this cant be as intended because its not the same for everyone, for example heres mine in windowed which works fine and doesn't crash in full screen.

could the is be an issue between windows xp and 7? I see both of you have xp while mine is on 7 and looks fine.

Ok, my daughter has fixed my issue. Go to your task bar and make sure the box marked 'keep task bar on top' is unchecked. Don't understand WHY it happened after patch, but am happy it worked!

It does fix the issue sorta. Still has issues, and now I cant see my start bar correctly.

I still have the issue with it being off from left to right.

Also for those using Window 7, you can make it so it doesnt force the window down so you can see the screen correctly if you want.
