My few suggestions

Grass should be gathered into inventory. Currently, grass is harder to accumulate than Granite.
When you die, your backpack should drop where you died, requiring you to go back and get your stuff.
Shovels should be removed as a combat weapon, they shouldn't be more powerful than an axe/sword/bat.

The grass suggestion I will definitely consider. Shovels (and all weapons) will be adjusted for balance. Dropping backpacks, I think would mostly just cause complaints (especially on the Peace Server).

Ive heard others complaining about how painful grinding out grass can be and after I tried it myself it was quite discouraging especially since you have to take those 4 pieces and make string and twine before you can even use it for crafting. Half an hour spent to build one post to get arch up .09 points... eek( it was my first one so i was figuring it out on my own which led to more time taken)

I 100% disagree with you on the grass. Grass is not hard to grind and is actually more interesting and better then granite. If you don't like doing grass then buy the thread or what you need from players that do. Grass has always been one of my favorite things in the game to do and i enjoy it much more then standing in one spot and grinding granite. This is the reason we have an economy where you buy/trade.

Backpacks dropping i would actually be ok with as long as they were not lootable and locked like a cart for x amount of hours so you can go back and get your stuff would also prevent death porting so nice suggestion.

Weapons are coming <3

I too disagree about grass. It's as it should be. Gathering it into bundles and stacking it fits. I wouldn't throw it into a bag where it would bend and break, I'd bundle it and lay it somewhere carefully where it would be available to weave baskets and make long strands of thread or twine. Fairly realistic to me. If it's not something you like doing, as Darkwalker said, trade with someone who does. There are many ways to work with others and trade in Xsyon, if you don't like picking grass, but like picking rocks...find someone who is the opposite and team up, trade the resource that you don't mind gathering for the one you need. I know there's ppl who would trade their grass thread for your granite or limestone.

As for shovels....of course they should remain a weapon. In an apocalypse, we would be grabbing whatever we had to get the job done. I'd be sharpening up that spade to swing wildly and smack things very quickly. :D They aren't necessarily better than axes....different yes, better tho... that's a matter of opinion. Axes swing & charge faster while shovels are slower to swing & charge. Axes have a shorter range while shovels have a longer range, again....as it should be. (compare it to a one hand weapon vs two hander in most other games (with a slight tweak); quick with shorter range vs slower with longer range...damage can equal out if used properly) Blades....they're quick, but you have to get in real close to use them. It all seems very much realistic to me. Blades do perhaps get the short stick in Xsyon (tho I know of a player or two that proved that skill could even average that out), and while I look forward to having more than just quality lvl as a factor to our weapons, the ways and reasons they work as they do, seems on track.

Backpacks, eh, travel takes enough time as it is, if ppl travel far to scav/trade/pick a rare resource/explore/visit friends/whatever and a bear wallops them....they're not gonna be happy to have to return to get their items. It would just stop map travel which is finally starting to pick up again and he's right, would just cause more complaining than benefits.

I definitely think this would be more easy, however I would have to disagree for several reasons. First, pulling grass unlike other items actually takes something from the world. As it stands, I have to consider where I am going to pull and how it will effect my neighbors. Pulling grass on that scale i believe would upset that balance, think parking lot. Second, unlike some pulls this is physical allowing me to not only use it as an item to produce but also decoration. I have 100 in both grass and basket and really once that skill reaches that level you're pulling slows to a crawl. I remember thinking the first time I pulled grass what a unique idea. Honestly the game is building and leveling, once that is achieved then what? No rush, keep it like it is, it's unique and balanced. As far as the weapons, i don't use them, no comment.

No it shouldn't your getting long grass to weave, have you ever been in scouts?
You literally make large baskets and even a basket chair to get your basketry badge.

No its not, granite is harder to gather because of weight. You can stand next to a basket and gather granite all day.

This would have had to be in game day 1 to be accepted, even though i would support this many players would complain.

-Shovels should be removed as a combat weapon, they shouldn't be more powerful than an axe/sword/bat.
Shovels are pretty effective weapons, maybe not a sword or ax, but defiantly a club or a bat.
