This isn't technically a bug as it's currently how things are set up. Being on a junk pile gives a different set and different number of results than being on other terrain.

I am thinking of setting it up so that if you switch back and forth quickly the results for when you are on the junk or off are the same ones but this will require some changes and caching of results so it will be for a future patch.
