Upkeep and Maintenance

Porbably been suggested 100 times but I'm lazy and don't want to read through all the posts.

Tribe area does a 'check' once a week on how many 'structure types' you have ie: mason walls bamati floors etc..
For every structure you have there will be a small upkeep, a limestone wall would require 2 bricks and 1 mortar, 20 limestone walls would require 40 bricks and 20 mortar once a week. Banaya roof would require a leather tarp and so on and so forth.

Keep it simple so people don't have to check every structure and make it so they just 'feed the totem'.

I think it's a good suggestion you can count my vote in.

I can appreciate the 'realism' but, generally speaking, I work 9+ hrs a day so the last thing I want to have to deal with is maintaining my tribe that I already pay to play in. If the game weren't enough of a time sink, now I've got the spend time (in addition to the monthly payment) maintaining that time sink? For now, I think clicking on the totem is enough or at least to make the duration between 'payments' longer like 2 weeks instead of. I can definitely see replacing stuff on structures once a season.

So, my vote is a "no, for now". In principle, however, I like the idea just with the 2 week check rather than a 1 week check. Can ya dig it? :)

I don't think this would be that bad really. As long as other people in your tribe could maintain the walls and such. I agree once a season sounds more realistic.

Roberto, really you shouldnt talk about how often, but more about how much.
1 week of upkeep at 1 brick wouldnt be a lot less of your time than 1 season of 10000 bricks. You feel me?

There would need to be some balance of effort.

MrDDT, one season of 10000 bricks would result in my unsubscribing and playing something else. Some people might say, "Well, go ahead, maybe this game isn't for you then?"

One brick a week is acceptable. I agree some balance needs to be stricken. BTW, did you mean "would be a lot less"? (I got confused)

What if its season based? harsh winter 25% of the construction cost? and so on

If repair adds experience points to Architecture then count me in. Also maybe for abandon tribes this could help remove old workings as well with a speeded up process of decay and let nature return to reclaim the lands.

So I think if a person wants to pay to play and have their own tribe and be solo with a 25 meter radius could get away with paying little to no upkeep at all.

And what if those larger tribes that are active/inactive suddenly have to start paying pretty high land tax for lack of a better word.

Upkeep could be a good blackhole for the currencies.

Suddenly a small but rich tribe can buy some land to grow their business for lack of a better word, and the large tribes will be scrambling to organize their ranks and get back to working together on things.

One other thing I might suggest is to make it a rule against advertising your tribe in global chat... or maybe it is just me that's annoyed by it.
