Learning of Architecture Recipes
New recipes not learned as stated in Q&A

I can verify that new arch recipes are only being learned when a skill level is reached, not by construction attempts. This makes it impossible for me to learn any thing else other than by scavenging due to my current arch level of 98. I dont want to be penalized for being active before this patch. Others at low level arch are racking up the new recipes. I have posted on the forums but have not seen an official response. Also not seen a dev in irc since i discovered this. BTW, built 231 stuctures to get to 98 with no new recipe gain. If this is intentional, I would like to know so that I can decide whether or not to reroll.

Are you absolutely sure of this?

If this is the case, I got to agree, that would be a problem for very active players.

VWT, working from 75 to 98 over the last couple days, I consistently only learned new recipes when reaching a skill level. The 231 attempts getting to 98 pretty much sealed my suspicions. BTW, INT is 82.

Yes, this is stupid. I don't know why they haven't thought of making recipe learning and skill learning independent. It wouldn't be that hard.

2000 skill xp to level 90 arch.
400 recipe xp to new recipe.

creating item gives "x" amount of skill XP based on how difficult it is to get the mats and tools for what you create.
creating item gives "y" amount of recipe XP based on how difficult it is to get the mats and tools for what you create.

Also, make sure at higher levels you learn a few recipes per skill level. And at lower levels you earn a few levels per skill recipe.

Let me clarify. Reason I say it is stupid is because it punishes players for being better at a skill. I personally think there should be recipes only 90+ archs can learn..AND build...and then some level 100 recipes as well. When decay comes in, archs will have to maintain their 100 skill to be able to create the awesome recipe that is rewarded at skill level 100 (or even more rare, scavenged and then can only learned by level 100s).

Recipes such as doors and gates would be cool if they were kept at skill 100 fx :).
The only way of building custom made houses with permission required skill.

That's a bit too much VeryWii.....

Maybe something not so required such as gates and doors at 100. Something like multi level construction at 100.

Oh, I thought you meant only the architect at level 100 could make a custom house for himself and lock it, but no one else. If the arch could build personal buildings for his mates, I wouldn't mind.

well from lvl 47-67 i sped through and gotten roughly 25ish+ recipes but once i hit 67 the gravy trains slowed down and now im at 81 and it its medevil hell just to get even one. Deffinity need to allows to gain more faster when were higher levels, at the current goin rate we will deforest the game to learn all 100 recipes then have to figure out wat to do for a city since matts are gone..lol. ( i burned through 150 long logs, 5k limestone bricks, seceral buildings, 20 grass mats) and gained only 3 recipes today, (and i made roughly 1k posts today by building and dismanteling. Ive also notice any pre patch buildings we have up give 0 back when dismantles and pre projected limestone walls have a minor bug that eats matts (ive lost roughly 120 bircks and 40 motar) when u yank the wall down and put a new one up poof doesnt do it anymore :-( and wats up with the medevil scavaging, cant find any form of recipe now

oh and arch's can make personal house's now as small and as big as ya want. :-) (beleave theirs 7 different housing setups to choose from)

So you are saying that projects started before the patch have this bug that eats materials? I have several in my homestead that are doing this. Guess I will tear them all down and place new ones, can't really remember what I placed prepatch. I too have lost 120 limestone bricks and don't care to lose any more.

if you want high-end recipes they got to be valuable.

What is more valuable than a door/gate currently? (I'm not saying all doors and gates, the crappy ones can start around 50-70 - they won't hold an attack out for long and will decay fast).

The only thing is, you need a way to transfer ownership of permissions
5 - 25 | You can build walls, pre-made housing and such.

25 - 49 | You can build single houses and double houses from 25 - 49 (single house 4x4 - much like the Bamati Ply Roof, can be as long as it wants). (Double house is twice the width of a single house (much like a Pioneers Sheet Roof, can be as long as you want.)

50 - 89 | Housing materials get more advanced after 50-89 (You can get thrice houses etc. 12x12 - I imagine these would be 3 roofs, two surrounding the middle one. These two are similar to the Pioneers Sheet Roof. The middle roof are similar to Bamati Ply Roof except it fits the two surrounding it.)

90 - 99 | No idea.. I haven't gotten this many recipes yet :P.

100 | The awesome gates/doors are 100.

While I get the idea with these new house parts. All those Corner posts keeping the roof up should go. Instead objects such as walls, floors, roofs should be placeable on top of each other.

I can confirm with the OP, you ONLY gain recipes when you gain a skill point. Never based off actions.
