Base posts don't support beams

I've tried this many different ways and even talked to other players, from what I can see, its impossible to support a beam across a "pioneer base post"

This sucks since the only other options are to use 4x4 or corner truss or cantilevers, both are too large for a single beam and would stick outside of the walls looking pretty dang ugly.

I'm trying to put a beam across a area where I don't have a wall, so I can put a wall above that area, ontop of the beam.... but if I can't support the beam, than I can't go forward... using 4x4 or corner truss just simply looks ugly, its not the right tool for this job... But when I use pioneer base posts it doesn't work to support a 16m beam, when it should so that we can hide supports in the walls like trussing would be, making our own custom trussing with beams and base posts that are bigger than the 8x8 truss we have access to and being less limiting than a 8x8 square cuz you could make custom dimentions.. thats how base posts and beams SHOULD be working, for situations where a corner or 4x4 truss is too much of a square, when you just need a single beam, you need something for that and its base posts, but they don't work as support posts for a beam..

I am moving this to Suggestions. Beams are meant to be supported by trusses and add additional flexibility to the trusses.

I will add more features / flexibility to the building system only after I can devise proper path-finding with the current system and only if I can ensure that any added flexibility does not make path-finding impossible.

Thanks

I see, thanks for making me aware of what the issue is.

I can assume you have not figured out what the core issue around that is yet?

From what I can see, creatures are able to walk on floors without problems... so the problem seems to be the ramps themselves or the elevation change given by the ramp.

This makes me wonder if trussing is a problem or not since it seems to be either elevation or the ramp itself.
