Eliminating Camera Snap After Actions

I often like to look around when crafting 20 items for example at a time as hostile animals come through. The problem is the camera snaps back to the position it was in when you started crafting after every object, and has resulted in 1 death every day I've played because the time is so minimal for most tasks making it impossible to see dangers coming unless you happen to be looking in the right direction at the time. Likewise the list tends to snap as well, preventing you from looking over recipes available while crafting. Both of these seem to impose needless overhead as well as being annoyances with no real purpose.

It's a good idea, annoyed me a bit as well at first, but I got use to it. Still though, it's a nice little improvement.

Pressing the HOME key to switch camera modes should have the effect you are looking for. 3rd Person Flex and 3rd Person Free mode allow more camera movement around your character without snapping to behind the character.

The default 3rd Person Direct mode is specifically designed to snap behind the character.

I will look into the crafting. It should snap to the current recipe in use at the top of the window display while you are crafting. (It was set up that way as requested by players - so this may be a case of 'you can't please everyone' :) )

another workaround i use while crafting to look around - which overides the camera snap is to press the wheel or middle mouse button and move your
mouse to rotate the camera around your toon without turning your toon and also if kept pressed during crafting eliminates the camera snap.
(but it is kind of another chore holding the middle mouse button or wheel while crafting or drinking running etc) :D

As Xsyon said if you press the home button you can change your view
I think the view you would probably want is "3rd Person free camera" that
would allow you to look around more.

Give that a try and see if it works better for you.
