Magic 3
After a long break, my Xsyon journey continues, and I bring my new ideas too!

This is probably one you’ve seen in some games, and that is spellbooks and tomes!

The idea is that these spells are only able to be cast by wielding your tome in your left or right hand, and keeping the other free. Why must you keep your hand free? To perform hand signs of course!

The way I envision it, you need to craft your own tome in order to begin using the spells. How do you acquire spells you ask? Why, through our trusty friend scavenging!

Why though? Well, looking through that lore in the website, they say the gods came back to wage war. I imagine that they created and used many spells during their fighting, with those under them taking it upon themselves to right down and distribute their power. Some maybe even created their own if they were powerful enough. They documented them on scrolls, many of which were used and kept by those during the battle. By the time we arrive in game, those creators are long gone, the ancient knowledges buried in the rubble like many other things to this day.

The intention in this idea too is that scrolls are supposed to be rare finds, rarer than blueprints. And much like how scavenging materials and schemes are done in game, certain scrolls can only be found in certain regions. But the way it would work is that common scrolls could be found in low danger zones or above, uncommon scrolls in medium danger zones or above, rare scrolls in high danger zones or above, and legendary scrolls in extreme.

Common and uncommon scrolls would be able to be found no matter what region you're in.
For rare scrolls, there would be different scrolls that can only be found in the northern and southern parts of the map, as well as high danger zones, encouraging exploration and trading of said scrolls.
The rarest of them all, legendary scrolls, can only be found in the extreme danger zones, but like materials, you can only find a few specific ones in certain regions, which would greatly expand a reason to go explore the map and zones you might not be use to.
And even rarer than the rarest, event scrolls! These scrolls would only be given out by the dev or guides during events or even out of generosity, feeling we are worthy of possessing such a scroll.

Maybe even, they can be craftable by us, but only if our magic level permits it, and I intend for the process to be absolutely tedious and long, as well as possessing one of the scrolls or having it in your tome, as I wouldn't want the market to get flooded by copies. Maybe even more, the scrolls copied to be given to other people will have weaker effects, to again encourage exploration of the lands. This will also make the wielders of event scrolls the strongest version of it, or a scroll master, for only they can use the full potential of the scrolls, and the copies they graciously decide to give to others, whether it be tribe members, friends, family, or a worthy adventurer, will be a lesser, weaker, or simpler version of the scroll.

When you want to learn the spell off the scroll, you would learn it as you would a schematic or blueprint, and likewise, it disappears once learned.

And now we move on to casting said spell!

When you wish to choose a spell to cast, you open your tome as you would a backpack. All your learned spells will be available there. You then choose which spell you want to use, then place it into your hand like a weapon. You could maybe even hotkey it to make switching spells easier. Now naturally you don't want spells being cast instantly as it would be a bit odd and unfair, especially in PvP. When casting your spell, you will need to charge your bar as you would an attack. Once you release, your character will begin performing hand signs, and if successful, BOOM. Spell cast, mind blown!

Give me your ideas on if this is good or bad, or perhaps your own ideas you would add on to this to improve it.
