We all know it’s challenging for the devs is to design the game that is playable and fun for people with different skill sets and levels. By the few posts in the
zombie feedback thread, it sounds like it will become very challenging to impossible for most folks in game to survie the zombie hords. I’ve neglected training my combat skills so I will fall into this category and I plan to work on it soon to preprare for whatever is released. These are my two suggestions that might help many of us, except for DDT, who fights nekid and with his fishing pole. (that sounds so wrong, but I'm quoting him).
1) The zombies and revs have reduced stats (strength, fortitude, attack and/or defense) during daylight hours. The sun hurts them.
And/Or
2) The zombies and rev population decreases during daylight hours, to a portion of the total population or to none at all. They return to the earth at dawn to regen and then respawn at night.
Pros: This would make it easier for new players to kill the NPCs and it would give everyone time to explore, gather resources and craft/build.
Cons: The devs have coded most of the zombies and revs already (obviously, since they are on test now) so modifying and implementing this late in the development may require a lot of old code to be changed.
I haven’t been on test and haven’t played for about 5-6 months. I’m not a programmer and I don’t claim to know the mechanics of the game like those who really do, so if my suggestions are not viable please say so. These are ideas I’m throwing out for discussion. I’m will probably resub soon to rebuild my keep (again) after they give us the square tribe lands.
