    Possible Tribe Evolution

Here is a quick tech tree of how a suggested tribe could evolve after the prelude.

Example: [NOT A SUGGESTION, JUST AN EXAMPLE OF HOW ONE COULD TAKE IT, to ensure this, I made a pun of the books that you need to find]
    No Evolution: Barbaric
    1st Evolution:
Classical Economics (Economy) [Ecofriendly Tree Cutting]
Serfdom (Industrial) [It's not slavery, it's work which puts them into debt]

    2nd Evolution:
    [Economy]
Guild (Economy, Secondary Industrial) [OPEC and Toxic Water to ward off Toxic Oil]
    OR
Nationalism (Economy, Secondary Political) [Political Book on How Not to be a Liberal]
    [Industrial]
Monarchy (Industrial, Secondary Political) [King Henry IIIV and 8 Wives Later Book]
    OR
Tyranny (Industrial, Secondary Economy) [Napoleon's I Smell Wallpaper Poisoning Book]

    3rd Evolution:
    [Hybrid (ANY)]
Republic (Primary Political, Secondary Economy, Secondary Industrial) [Copy of US Constitution]
    [Nationalism]
Capitalism (Primary Economy, Secondary Political, Secondary Industrial) [Get Rich Quick Book]
    [Guild]
Religious Statehood (Primary Religion, Secondary Industrial, Secondary Economy) [A Book of Tree Hugging]
    [Monarchy]
Empire (Industrial, Secondary Political, Secondary Expansionism)
    [Caesar, 20 Stab Wounds After]
    [Tyranny]
Communism (Industrial, Secondary Economy, Secondary Expansionism)
    [Little Bloody Book]
Of course this suggestion isn't completely limiting tribes, it only benefits tribes more in certain areas, and tribes are free to switch with little delay. Evolution over time will allow more government types become available, and of course, the above is not a true suggestion, only an example of how a government evolution could possibly be.

    Interesting ideas, but....
How much of a factor does the tribe, or at least it's "city" have an effect for it's members? I thought Tribes were more or a, for lack of a better term, a Guild. Just some place to call home.
How would the "level" of the tribe increase, size based, existence length based, or some other factor?
I definitely feel like there should be some type of Spiritual based government. Since we are basically starting back at tribalism, and gods are "present" in that world, religion as a factor in government should play some type of role.

Q: How much of a factor does the tribe, or at least it's "city" have an effect for it's members?
A: If my suggestion went through like planned, it would have more of an impact on the Tribe then it would on anything else. For instance, some government type with the trait, expansionism would grow slightly more in land control then others. Of course, the traits would give the chance to learn different new skills, such a government with the trait of primarily economy would teach them about conserving resources, so, the player may be able to carry more.

Q: How would the "level" of the tribe increase, size based, existence length based, or some other factor?
A: Technology and members with some items involved. For instance, if you wanted to evolve to Serfdom, you would need to find a book that teaches about it.

Q: I definitely feel like there should be some type of Spiritual based government. Since we are basically starting back at tribalism, and gods are "present" in that world, religion as a factor in government should play some type of role.
A: Correct, and in that case, spiritual based governments would allow for major involvement with the chance of the player to grow in that religion by helping that government.

PS: I think that if it does come out, that the developers should only tell us the basics of it, and allow us to figure out the different governments by searching city ruins for books on government.

The general idea definitely seems creative and interesingly good! One thing, however, struck me.

I will assume you live in America and the mistake that has been made is just a sign of the remnance of Cold War propaganda.

Communism has nothing to do with tyranny. Communism, as taught by Marx, is a stateless society with no government whatsoever. Tyranny and communism are therefor mutually exclusive. If you are looking for a suppressive society, where the individual is suppressed by "the system", you're looking for fascism.

And no, the USSR was not communism. It was practically fascist socialism.

    Re:Possible Tribe Evolution

I knew I was going to get heat for this...

The above was an EXAMPLE...I do not think that it should be like that, and yes I know that, I just tried to put together the most common governments together. Tyranny is the closest thing we have of ancient communism, besides Monarchy. It is not a slam on communists, nor do I care if anyone thinks it is. Again it is an example, if anything, Tyranny and Religious Statehood should be together, but I felt like doing a pun on religion by making it apart of money, since that's what 90% of the religions focus on .

Seems like a pretty good idea.. there can be many ways to advance your culture with this theory in place. Through crafting advances or land advances.. I like it.

AHHH! a capitalist socialst is trying to force his sim city views on us... *holds up cross* begone demon!

    hehe

I like your idea of the different stages of evolutions for tribes which can be unlocked at stages, however I don't quite like the evolutionary paths you have chosen to represent government styles... It will add too much pigeon holing/stigma with the associated type/word. Maybe it should just be in the form of selecting bonuses - that way the path isn't being labeled and thus not setting expectations or a stigma.

This is indeed something fresh and new

for the 20th time, THIS IS NOT A TRUE EXAMPLE. I think that we shouldn't present examples, but let the developers come up with them, thus, forcing us to find out what they are.

(I only did it so I could have a pun on Religion, and yes, I am a centrist)

Good sir, your idea sparkles with geniusness and innovation, but is tattered by political views.

It's a great idea, but without the puns, would not one be bored after reading through it?
