I was simply running in zone 817|pos 767.03 and got an error of "Unable to load Ground levels for zone: 777Sector:1 Move Sector". that was followed by the same error but with ...2 Move Sector at the end. That was followed by the game not responding.

I have noticed that "some" errors can be minimized or ignored, while others will crash you. I play almost exclusively in windowed mode atm and I may have 2-3 errors and keep playing a bit!
