Modern Weapons - Really?

Maybe it hasnt accurred to you, but maybe the art of making fire weapons was lost in the Apocalypse. I mean how many people actually have knowledge to make guns from scratch without importing parts.
Just because one civilisation created modern weaponary doesnt mean the second will.

Also from bows and arrows to modern weapons happened over centuries. Thats erm, past your chars lifetime :P Since this game plays out over real time.

I sort of picture it like Thundar the Barbarian. Mainly swords and sorcery. But a very rare modern technology drop. Once the game expands, you can find a lost city or museum or some such that you can explore and find those mutants and such.
