More than 1 craft skill after level up

k i was thinking of the time it took to level my char up 1 level and it struck me that as one person with only 1 craft skill you are going no were with out a tribe or other people to help.

So i was wondering how are those who are going to lonewolf it going to,

and well i thought maybe a way to deal with that would be to have a learning stage where when you reach a certain level or level up enough times you can pick a secondary crafting skill.

not sure if any one thought of this before but i thought it was a good idea so what does every one else think. B)

    that's exactly as intended!

however, you don't have to be with a group of people- you just need to use the trade market.

When skill teaching is implemented, it will be possible to have more than one skill. However, the game is set up to make the lone wolf play style very difficult. For the time being it actually is not really an option (going lone wolf).

I think having only 1 crafting skill per character is stupid and totally unrealistic. Sure, people will say, this is so people will socialise and trade, but it wont result in that at all. It just means that each tribe member will end up doing a different craft, including combatants who dont really want to craft, to make the tribe self sufficient.

Char's should be able to learn as many crafts as they wish, but as you learn more, skill gain should become slower, resulting in much more effort required to learn multiple crafts, but still possible.

Well your primary craft skill should be 100% efficient as it is now.
Your secondary and third craft ability somewhat in the range of 30% - 50% in production.

In real life, you dont make all the things you got right now, yourself

That computer u using, someone else made it, the car you drive, someone else made it. lol. I think u got my point

Yup, But if you need to lock some bolts, you never call to mechanick, you just take wrench and it solo, or not?
Of course you not build car solo, but you can do simpthing simple like change oil or brake oil

I totally disagree. Im a builder in RL, and I am very capable of doing more than one thing. I can lay bricks, do carpentry, plumbing, concreting, tiling, paving, landscaping, administration. And while I can do all this, I am still quite capable of doing other things, like cooking, I actually made this computer myself, though of course I didnt actually make the components, but we dont make any of the components in game ourselves either :P. I can weave and make cane baskets and stuff (my dad used to own a cane shop), I can fish, I can find things laying around, and Im really good at digging dirt.

If I were able to make a makeshift sword, Im sure I'd be very capable of making tools also. Its totally ridiculous to say that just cos you're good at one thing, you cant be good at another thing. It is far too restricting gameplay wise, and people will get the shits not being able to do more than 1 thing. In sandbox games we should be capable of learning as many skills as we like, though of course add snowballing difficulty to it, so it does restrict it to a degree.

You don't read well do you? like 3 posts up it was already said the teaching skill will allow you to be taught other skills by players, however skill gain has a soft cap which makes it exponentially harder to gain skills the more you have so you can never be 100% in all or even most skills but you can be mediocre in most. I assume there will also be skill degredation possibly towards the higher evels.
