As the stats work now that raises some big problems IMO. When you start a game you probably have no idea what you want to play. Or even if you have, you might change your mind later. So what if you think you'll be a warrior, but months later you realize you want to be a crafter...but you can't, since you didn't put points on intelligence. How much more weight do you want to be able to carry? You can already run with telephone poles on your back! I think it is fine the way it is. And for the attributes. I like how that is also. Why you got to be superman in everygame you play. your either a fighter a crafter or somewhere in the middle.
About magic. Magic won't be ingame during Prelude. So people who want to play it later have to put points on Spirit right now, and play with disadvantage for like a year ? This doesn't make any sense.
A restriction like this takes off a lot of the game playability. We won't have alts, what if after 2 years of gameplay you get bored of melee and want to play a magic character or a crafter? You won't be able to. I don't see any reason to have such a restriction in place. We already have skill decay to avoid supermen. Thats much more logical, you get a skill up, and when you get bored of it you can forget it and train another skill. Thats how a sandbox game supposed to work, not in the way where you have to decide your years long carrier on the very first day. That would cause a very linear gameplay.
