Great discussion on this topic, be nice to get a thought from Xsyon on this.
For those who were fussed about the protection of water.. perhaps some kind of drainage system come pipeline that needed to be protected. Dunno, I just like the idea of being able to locate water since its not that intrinsic to the gameplay other than the thirst factor and food is pretty much everywhere.
And eventually we may learn to utilise it as a source of turning machinery etc. Very long term but the possibilites are there.
