Later on as we progress, I heard we will be moving through the green fog that borders the land. Will we come across destroyed cities, I honestly think that would be awesome. I also do not know if this has been stated or anything before if so sorry.

Agreed, no info as yet.
But i do think it would be good to see some sort of ruins as we travel.
