Is it best to start with a combat weapon or go for a crafting tool? Which of these tools is used to gather ore/metal crafting mats?

Currently there is no ore harvesting, you get all your metal through scrap heaps. Mining has been discussed though, so you might want to choose picks as your weapon if you want to try it whenever it comes out.


But srsly, ist here a shovel skill?
