I would like the local chat reduced to about 50m.
And in the future allow tribes to craft radios with increasing range through increased level patterns in toolcrafting. These radios could be set up as a tribe to tribe whisper mechanic. With each tribe with a radio getting a unique frequency. Then you can pick and choose who gets to know your frequency.

I think
/s should be like shout at 50-100m,
/r should be Region which should be your surrounding zones the way /s is,
/L should be local which should be directly around you like about 10m

/ta [name] - team add . add player to team chat.
/td [name] - delete player from team chat.
/f - friends chat. the players in your friend list.
/tp - print team list.
/tw - add a player to team chat, the last one who is whisperd to u.
/r - reply to the last player who is whispered to u. Instead of typing the long names.

This would be great functions.
Also, player names should be different than the text.

Turn local chat into a radio based option, that players must carry and use some sort of radio. Along with this, allow 3 players if working together to triangulate the talking players position, so they can track them, kill them and destroy their radio so we dont have to listen to them anymore. =)

ROFL Yes! At the very least, tone down the local range quite a bit. I am so tired of hearing two tribes flex their pixel peen from two zones away. I'm not anti-social but I'd use that radio as a paperweight and really enjoy a smaller radius local chat.

We could put all those Quartz crystals to use, they are rare but would be worth it. perhaps instead of radios for people you could do Tribe<->Tribe using your totem as your antenna.

I like the range it is now.

If you make it 50m like the poll says you will have people even more bored than they already are.
