I really hope this is not, you dont have some big sign over your head that says what country you live in. your lucky you can see some ones name when you get close.

there is no reason to have this sorta intel should be there for you to see, maybe we should make it so you can see name tags from half a zone away.

Guild colors on Gear, via the crafts, Guild symbol on gear via crafting, NO GUILD TAGS. NO EASY TO SEE NAMES you should see the play and kill them first before you see there name imho.

infact there should be any names visible.

    carebears need to grow some.

"Otherwise I foresee there will be a lot of chaos in the future" EXACTLY this isn't a carebear theme park.

Guild uniforms and banners are a good idea. Also using emote passcodes would help.

I like the way it is right now. I do not want colors to differentiate. I would like to have a slightly easier to see name color other than black. Tribal colors are the way to go. Tribes already pick from two colors at their totem, make those colors show in tasteful ways on clothing worn.

This game is unique, lets keep it that way by not introducing mechanics all the other games have just because you are used to them.

You say you want diplomacy, then get out there and say hi to your neighbors. That's the staple of diplomacy.

Alliances are a horrible idea to me. If you dont have enough ppl in your tribe to do what you want then get more of your own ppl. Alliances lead to the "Zerg Superpower". I feel it ruins most MMO's, I fought in the great war in eve for 3 years, it ruins the game for anyone trying to play it their own style and making a name for themselves. And I dont feel that NOT having alliances ruins the game for anyone, all it does is protect the large tribes that are scared of the slightly larger tribe next door by going "blue" to them (blue = allied/freindly for those that dont know) If you want to have a pact or agreement now verbally with another alliance more power to you, but do not put it into the game mechanics.

Regardless if you want it or not, a tribe alliance/enemy system is planned. Any game with clans, guilds, tribes needs a guild level friend/foe system, it enables you to not only set other guilds/tribes as friends, but also as enemies, which then allows you to declare war. Jookie has stated in the past that all of this is planned for during Prelude.

Most games that have these systems, also have a kind of communication and identification system to compliment it. This is typically done with alliance chats, guild tags, and colour coded names above heads. This system is used the most, because it works, and it is a good system. Whats wrong with making an enemy and his name showing up red? Or making an ally and his name being green, and your guild mates names being yellow? Its a simple system that should definitely be implemented, for many many reasons. Saying go back to some other game is pathetic and immature, and is not an argument for or against the topic at hand. If you really dont want this system, you need to list some real reasons why this would be a negative rather than a positive, cos as far as I see it, the positives far outweigh the negatives. Its fine to have a game that has different mechanics to most games, but not implementing something like this would be going against the grain a little too much in my books.

This game offers the ability to create some unique uniforms, which would be far more effective in general rather than "Oh green tag".
Keeping it as it currently is will allow the small group/solo player to still be effective against a larger force by masquerading as the enemy in their uniform. One classic example would be from "The good, the bad, the ugly" where they dress in rebel uniforms, but still get found out.
As for what Jooki has said in the past, he's very flexible on what he implements and usually listens to both sides of the argument when it becomes an issue, and i think this will be an issue as the only ones that will benefit from it are clans that want to play the numbers game.

That is just my opinion though.
Though in real conflicts each side often has uniforms to help tell each other apart. The wide varieties of armor in this game does allow for this somewhat but some form of dye system would be nice too, since it adds to how unique your armor is. While in a battle if everyone on your side is wearing a full tahoe cowboy outfit with heyburn shirt and pants underneath and the enemy is wearing a jumble of different armors or a different armor set it will reduce freindly fire, if everyone in your clan is wearing bright red tahoe outfits and the enemy is wearing, forest green, cobalt blue, or a jumble of colors, friendly fire will only be a big issue if you are swinging wildly.

You have to get to close and then remember whether that name is an alliance member just doesn't make sense to me. Whats everyones thoughts?

    Thread suggestions:

    Suggestion 1 - Tribal Colors
    Suggestion 2 - Clan tags
    Suggestion 3 - Guild Banners
    NO way !

This idea would turn the game into an artificial PvP fest - coloured tags? Man what are you thinking of?
