The Priority of Expanding the map?

    WHY!!!?????

Are you kidding me? Am I the only one who read and disagrees that one of the priorities right now is to expand the game map. There is nothing to currently do in this game besides build sand castles. There is tons of area currently to build sand castles. I haven't even explored 1/10th of the current game map. I haven't even explored the whole zone that I live in.

Currently I have a problem finding people in the game. Increase the game map so people spread out even more and what do you think will happen. Everyone will be playing single player Xsyon or will have to communicate via forum to find other people to play.

Please just respond to this post with your opinion of the matter. I don't think I can possibly be the only one that is annoyed that, besides fixing game performance, (which is obviously important) one of the few things they are doing is expanding the game map. I haven't even visited the green mist yet.

Its possible that lag and expansion of the land aren't mutually exclusive. It's also possible that they want to expand the land so the animals have somewhere to breed, so they don't have to reset them every two days. Honestly I haven't clue why they are doing it but I'm sure their are good reasons. Enjoy the mystery lol.

There is already a substantial thread on this http://www.xsyon.com/forum/showthrea...the-green-mist.

It could be that the person working on it is using a tool or doing art and isn't able to code or work on other things. Actually I see you have already taken part in the other thread. I guess you want this one to be more specific.

As to your comments on exploring. I know my zone inside and out now. I have been up and down the east, south and west side of the map scavenging and hoping to find animals to hunt. The problem is that adding more land won't make the game more interesting either. Once you do get out you will find that the land is filled with many areas that look similar to each other. There is not really a lot to see. There are no points of interest etc. So I would agree, they need to be working on mechanics that will add some randomness at least.

I would honestly rather have that person get the rest of the team coffee. A larger map will only hurt this game. Or fire the guy creating the map and use his money to pay someone who will actually add something needed to the game.

A bigger map is really needed I believe that the current maps is over crowded. Within a 5 minute radius you find multiply tribes. I like things to be spaced out in games like this. First of all it seems to be needed for the animals (There now all driving to areas in the mist I heard). It might be just like this at our places though, but I have explored a bit and the zones next to us are also spamed with tribes.

your memories are short. Don't you remember the flurry of threads on how the game world is too small. I remember because I believe it and had one of those threads. Do I still believe it, yea I probably do, The world seems a bit small to me. Do I think it should be one of the first things addressed, probably not. On the other hand, its good to see that the devs listen to the community (Whether you like their interference or not)

You have problems finding people ingame ? 0.o

Must be your zone then, plenty of people where I am.

Or maybe they just don't want to be found by you ?

I think expanding the liveable area is a great idea. More land to scout and hunt in, and most likely the animals there won't all be dead 30 mintues after the server is rebooted ? You'd actually have to go on hunting trips. More opportunity to ambush heavily loaded hunters on their way back to camp.

Those that want to live in isolation will move out into the unpopulated areas. It will reduce their chances of being randomly ganked, because random gankers will get bored searching for them. Those that want to trade and socialise and fight a lot will stay near the lake, which has high concentrations of people and junkpiles. The population will sort itself out.
