It's not about PVP vs PVE, it's about reality.

Reality about what is really happening in game as opposed to what folks on the forum to WANT to happen.

This is a full loot open FFA pvp game with a heavy, REALLY heavy leaning towards crafting and building.

Those are know facts, that everyone has discussed forever. ( don't waste time nit picking here )

    So...

The reality IS that most PVP players have left, and those that join are doing so for the building and terraforming, and some for the hunting. The games playerbase has shifted from what folks "thought" the game would be to what it is.

If the Devs want the game to be about PVP they will shift the focus to that .. will take time and will take advertising. It seems that they want to, since the next thing in the pipe is combat revamp.

So we have one side building up now, and maybe soon the other side. BOTH can play here just fine. Let's all just accept the reality of our current situation and support the devs best we can.. maybe this will yet be what YOU the individual wants.

With all respect seems like the continuation of the other current hot topic, couldn't you have posted this there instead of making an extra thread over the same issue?

the reality is you are basing your conclusions on a product that is not close to being complete.

it's not a pvp game because it has a horrible pvp 'system' (getting a redesign) and has no reason to pvp (resources are limitless, territorial control is not implemented, territorial conquest is not implemented). It doesnt matter that it's ffa, because there is no reason to fight other than fighting itself, and if you dont want to fight, you have absolutely no reason to engage in it.

It's not a pve game, because there is no pve.

The product that currently exists is a building and crafting sim. You build and your craft because those are the systems that 'work'. They have no point other than their own purpose (ie. you build to...build stuff). You craft items just to make the items, they have no purpose other than to be potentially better than the ones that came before...you don't need them to pvp, because you dont need to pvp. You don't need them to make money because there is no economy, and thus nothing that serves as currency. You don't need them for any other reason than to make different and potentially better versions of crafted items that came before.

So, while most of the pvp players have left (most of the remainder will probably depart with the arrival of June 1)...it's only because the portion of the game which interests them is simply not implemented. Sadly, i dont doubt your call will be heeded...there wont be much focus on pvp, because there wont be a significant portial of the population that views it as 'extremely important' and is experienced enough to ensure that it is tested and tweaked to be 'good'. Players will give it a pass, 'oh great, yeah wonderful' like they did (apparently) in the last round, and thus devs will move on to more important things (like maybe being able to make grass skirts, and thatch hut roofs). /shrug

Maybe its challenging for you but left click and than watching a loading bar isnt really challenging. Ah yes and the best quality mats will have the best results, very complicated.

Also it is not about reality otherwise we would have gates and no safe zones ( that alomne could be a huge step)

Really would love to have both gates and safe zones, but back to original thread for me
