I was thinking......

if there's so many animal (going to be) implemented then why not make some harder to find (rarer species) these 'Rarer species' should have special differences like effects if cooked or better pets. To obtain these, animals it's got to be challenging so why not put traces and tracks like footprints or (and) scents where the higher your hunting skill the more info you can find out about this unknown animal E.g. how old, how fresh the tracks are, what animal, how big the animal is....
you could follow these tracks and find maybe a den or a nest and set up a trap to catch it some animals E.g. a raccoon will be more sly and quick so it could escape or 'outwit' the trap.
