Man, where did you find those waterfalls? I can't seem to find any in this game. Anywhere. At all.

In the mountains. One shot is in Desolation where there are many waterfalls (SouthWest quadrant area), the other is SE of Round Hill a little ways.

I'm kidding. I think there are enough waterfalls around that every player could build a cabin by one if they wanted.

Funny thing about all the rivers and waterfalls.

At the real Lake Tahoe there are only 2 real rivers, Upper Truckee which runs into the lake at the south shore, and the Truckee River, which exits the lake at the upper west side. These two rivers aren't large, they would be about the size of the rivers we see in game.

There are several creeks, most of them are seasonal, they only have decent flow during the spring melt. A creeks few run year round, especially the ones that run out of the higher elevation lakes. Some waterfalls, but most are rapids/cascades down the mountain sides.

My guess the reason for the way waterfalls are in game is to maintain a graphics budget. The rivers are flat, waterfall, flat. Simulating rapids or cascades would be taxing on any graphics engine.

Having many rivers ensures that any tribe will have a water source near by where-ever they settle.

I wish there was a current in the rivers, but I don't foresee that happening anytime soon, if at all. But I am hopeful it may happen someday, though I think it would be very hard to code terraformed streams.

Personally I'd like to see the numbers of rivers cut drastically. I agree the waterfalls are probably needed for the reasons you mention but the problem with too many rivers and waterfalls is that it makes everything look the same. Imagine trying to give directions to a new recruit to your tribe area on the other side of the map from Round Hill. Ideally rivers would serve as landmarks but as it is now that won't be the case.

That really is my only gripe about the game right now. The landscape is really uninspiring. But maybe I'm just noticing it more because there's not a whole lot else to do at the moment other than run around.

I'm really curious about the upcoming terrain update. I have to wonder if they just fixing minor things (like roads in riverbeds) or are they going to perhaps scale the z-axis up a bit to make the "mountains" a little more impressive.

hi. at the moment I am in the construction of a fortress in the nicest waterfalls I have discovered.
The fortress with the names "STONE TROLL" originates in a rock massif only above a narrow way is accessible!. Vast amounts in rock lump Were diminished by the general "Whorlok" still completely alone!. However, hope is there!. There follow more and more followers of "A BETTER TOMORROW"

hi..im Moment bin ich am Bau einer Festung an den schönsten Wasserfällen die ich entdeckt habe.
Die Festung mit den Namen " STEINTROLL" entsteht in einem Felsmassiv der nur über einen schmalen Weg erreichbar ist!..Unmengen an Felsbrocken wurden vom General "Whorlok" noch ganz alleine Abgebaut!..Die Hoffnung ist aber da!..Es folgen immer mehr Gefolgsleute von " A BETTER TOMORROW"
und der General der seine blutigen Hände mit alten Stoffresten umwickelt hat findet keine Ruhe bis die Felsfestung mit verschiedenen Ebenen für den Clan fertiggestellt wird!...hier seht ihr fortlaufenden Fortschritt der Epischen Festung!..Geplant ist ebenfalls eine RIESIGE SKULPTUR durch Terraforming erstellt!..
