Local chat range is much too great for my preference - chat is still fairly spammy because of this. Chat bubbles are nice but I can live without them.

would you agree
yes [X]
I didn't vote for the simple fact that if it were such a limited distance we would need another means to initiate trade. If such a means were implemented I'd be fine with a very limited range. Tho really, a 20+ tribes radius is like 250m so I think it should cover at least that total area.
I dont like the bubble effect but if there was text chat that is local Id like it
Maybe have;
Local: 50-100m
Zone: that whole zone
Regional: the 4 zones (how we have it now)
Also tabbed, separable, chat
and a reply function
Agree, but 250m is more like it. 50m is definitly too small..
/s "Say" for chat bubbles only visible when within 30 meters of the person
/l "Local" for short-range radio for just inside the zone you're in
/r "Radio" acts like General chat does now (all adjacent zones)
I would like the local chat reduced to about 50m.
And in the future allow tribes to craft radios with increasing range through increased level patterns in toolcrafting. These radios could be set up as a tribe to tribe whisper mechanic. With each tribe with a radio getting a unique frequency. Then you can pick and choose who gets to know your frequency.
some kine of item/structure based radio system would be very neat indeed
mainly because i'd be able to shut people up xD
